Following last night’s announcement surrounding the celebration of life of Stephen Penn, we would like to provide more information about the guard of honour mentioned in yesterday’s post.
At the request of the family, Speedway competitors, regardless of class they compete in, are invited to bring their Cars or Bikes along on Thursday to assemble around the grass at the edge of the Speedway Track in a guard of honour for Stephen. Following the celebration of life, competitors with vehicles or bikes in the guard of honour on the infield will be asked to return to their cars or bikes and ready themselves for the procession for Stephens’s final lap. Stephens’s final lap will be led by the Family and followed closely by the Manawatu Mustang team and other competitors in guard are then invited to join.
We ask that competitors, who wish to be a part of this, enter the Central Energy Trust Arena via Gate 3 and follow instructions from the marshals on where to park your vehicles or bikes in the guard of honour. Gates will be open from 8am. Please arrive before 10am so we are able to adjourn to the celebration of life at 11am in Arena 2.
General car parking for the service will be on Pascal Street & Waldegrave Street.
A livestream of the service will be available for those who can’t make it https://www.videohub.co.nz/Private-Stream.aspx
