Teams Racing Fixed Penalties Hui

Robertson Holden International Speedway called a meeting on Monday 20th July 2020 to discuss the Fixed Penalties for Teams Racing as outlined in an email sent to us 9th July 2020. A large number of competitors turned out at this meeting to discuss these fixed penalties and the Teams Racing Code of Ethics, including several teams racing competitors from the Whanganui Ocean View Speedway who previously knew nothing of the intended penalties but had seen the advert for the Palmerston North meeting to discuss the intended penalties. From a show of hands only 20% of those in attendance had been informed of the intended penalties by SNZ and of those who had the information from SNZ virtually none of them were the affected competitors.

The outcome of this meeting saw a unanimous decision to hold a Hui for all interested parties to further discuss the Teams Racing Code of Ethics and Fixed Penalties in a forum where participation from competitors is welcomed and encouraged. Palmerston North Speedway is happy to advise that we have secured a suitable venue to hold this.

Your club, officials or competitors may have a different perspective on the suggested penalties but for several years there have been requests for the Teams Racing Code of Ethics to be assessed and upgraded if considered necessary. Most competitors are more than happy with the Code of Ethics but here is an opportunity to consider any practical changes or upgrades.

The Hui will be held on Sunday 27th September 2020 and will start at 11am at the Robertson Holden International Speedway CET Arena Grandstand Corporate Lounge, entry via Waldegrave Street. In attendance will be ex-Teams Racing Competitors, Referees and long serving Teams racing advisors who will be all on hand to facilitate this Hui. This is open to all tracks and competitors who are affected with this and are able to discuss and provide constructive insight into how to best serve and have compliance in Superstock and Stockcar Teams Racing.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Hui, please if you could let us know if you or your track is intending on attending this Hui for seating purposes, email pnspeedway@xtra.co.nz
