Fireworks This Weekend

You won't want to miss this exciting night for the whole family at the Stockcars on Saturday 11th December at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway. Featuring the metal crunching mayhem of the first Superstock teams race of the season with the Wanganui Warriors making the trek to the home of teams racing to battle for supremacy! Along with fast and furious Superstocks, metal crunching Stockcars with plenty of action on the track and up the wall, serious speedsters Super Saloons and Midgets racing wheel to wheel, the action will be non-stop. Add Santa and the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular and you have a recipe for exciting entertainment.

An exciting Manawatu Mustangs team led by 34p Rebecca Barr has been named for the clash with the Warriors. 172p Daniel Burmeister has plenty of experience Stockcar teams racing with the Pumas, while 26p Nic Davey and 59p Stephen Penn will be keen to make an impression on selectors. The Wanganui side is completely changed from that which lined up at the ENZED Superstock Teams Champs in February, offering the likes of 23v Scott Duncan, 81v Max Holloway and 136v Maddie Wise the chance to impress. 26v Kaelin Mooney makes the transition to Superstocks after an impressive showing in the Stockcar class and will be one to watch.

Finishing the night with the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular, the most impressive and biggest Fireworks display in the Manawatu will light up the night sky.

The Orange traffic light system will be in effect. This means the following;

Vaccine Pass verification for all people 12 years and 3 months of age and over; Proof of identity i.e. photo I.D, drivers licence, passport, Student ID may be requested for entry. 

People with a valid medical exemption are included in the verification process through the Ministry of Health App. Proof of identity i.e. photo I.D, drivers licence, passport, Student ID may be requested for entry.  No letter or other form of medical exemption is acceptable.

Only one dose will be required for the below ”Event Workers” up until the 17 January 2022 after which all workers will be required to meet the COVID Vaccination Certificate  requirements, workers are defined as below;

  1. Speedway NZ Volunteers (SNZ Official) - fall under the mandate
  2. Track Officials/ Crash Crew - fall under the mandate
  3. Competitors Youth & Adult as semi-professional performers for entertainment - fall under the mandate
  4. Contractors to the event (i.e., Fire Service, Medical Crew, Security / Gate Staff) - fall under the mandate
  5. Crew in respect of their volunteering services to a semi-professional performer - fall under the mandate.

You will be required to show a valid Vaccine Pass or an acceptable proof of first vaccination. For any person classified as an Event Worker as above, proof of having your first vaccine can be obtained from your doctor or via the authorised online portal. The appointment card people receive when getting their vaccine is “not” a valid form of proof. Proof of identity i.e. photo I.D, drivers licence, passport, Student ID may be requested for entry. 

In addition to this All Spectators/Public attending the event, aged over 12 years and 3 months are required to have valid Vaccine Pass (double dose), anyone under 12 years and 3 months of age are exempt.

  • Face masks are encouraged to be worn at all times, except when consuming food or beverage.
  • All people must scan in using the NZ Covid tracer app. Manual registers will be available for those unable to scan.

Admission prices are $25 for an adult (16 years and over), $10 for children aged 8-15, and $60 for a family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.

Tickets can be purchased from our ticket booths at Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street) and Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 5pm.
