This Saturday 28th December sees another meeting full of variety at the Robertson Holden International Speedway. Headlining the meeting is the NZ Minisprint Grand Prix, Manawatu Sidecar Champs and the Brent Lowe Memorial Mayhem for Stockcars, along with the bedlam of a Double Decker Demolition Derby.
A virtually identical field to the Manawatu Champs that was held here recently, the Minisprint Grand Prix pack will be hoping for a different outcome than the dominance that 2nz Shane Dewar has been showing of late. They'll need to do something special though, and drivers such as 72p Elliot Heron, 18s Daniel Nickel or 53v Dylan Smith will be ready to take any opportunity offered.
The Manawatu Sidecar Champs features a top quality field, with qualifying beginning at the earlier time of 6pm. 46p Russell Stuart & Andrew Parker are tough to beat when they appear, but 8p Rob Miller & Red George are in a rich vein of form at the moment. Other pairings like 97p Mike Zachan & Ben Franklin, 96p Mark Whye & Jacob Cooper and 17p Tony Hislop & Matt Stewart can never be discounted.
The Brent Lowe Memorial Mayhem for Stockcars always provides plenty of action, and the format this season is planned for three 12-lap heats to decide the victor. Superstocks and Adult Ministocks are also racing, which is finished off by a spectacular Double Decker Demolition Derby. Racing starts at 6:30pm, admission prices are Adults $25 (16 years and over), $10 for children aged 8-15, and $60 for a family pass of 2 adults and up to four children.
