The final meeting before Christmas this Saturday night at the Robertson Holden International Speedway is set to be another cracker, with the Total Sheetmetals Manawatu Superstock Champs and Manawatu Minisprint Champs the feature events.
Defending Manawatu Superstock champion 591p Wayne Hemi is likely to be absent with engine gremlins, so a silverware handover is virtually guaranteed. Father and child duos 32p Graeme Barr and 34p Rebecca Barr were rapid a fortnite ago during the best pairs, while 8p Scott Miers and 88p Jack Miers were impressive last weekend at the Grand Prix. 58p Peter Bengston can never be ruled out, and neither can the Joblin trio of 3nz Simon, 52p Scott and 62p Adam who made a welcome return to the track last weekend. Picking a winner is virtually impossible in such a quality field and entertainment is guaranteed.
On the other hand, defending Manawatu Minisprint champion 2nz Shane Dewar will be present and will start the meeting as favourite to retain his title. Drivers likely to push him all the way include 3nz Ben Vaughan and 72p Elliot Heron, with visitors 18s Daniel Nickel and 53v Dylan Smith also consistently quick around the Central Energy Trust Arena.
The spectacular Midgets make their second appearance of the season, along with Stockcars, Sidecars and Youth Ministocks completing the programme. Racing commences at 6:30pm, admission prices are Adults $25 (16 years and over), $10 for children aged 8-15, and $60 for a family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. 7 and under are FREE.
NOTE: There will be two practises before the meeting for Palmerston North contracted Youth Ministocks who are on the Mentor Programme.
