Racing returns this Saturday night from 6:30pm at the Robertson Holden International Speedway with the Manawatu Saloon Champs and a Stockcar teams race, along with the first outing of the season for Midgets.
An excellent field of over 20 Saloons are confirmed for the Manawatu Champs, including seven locally registered drivers. 8s Craig Korff will start favourite along with the Hawke's Bay duo of 27b Josh Smith and 29b Steven Martin gunning for the title. The experienced 9w Craig Burton and 829s Jarrod MacBeth are also ones to watch.
A Stockcar teams race between the Palmerston North Pumas and Rotorua Rascals is the other feature event, with a number of new drivers given the chance to impress. 992p Taylor Lampp is the most experienced in the lineup having returned from Wellington, while brother 772p Kyle Lampp and 172p Daniel Burmeister are also well versed in teams racing. 76p Cameron Renwick, 174p Brendon Learmonth and 882p Brandon Jurgeleit complete the team and will be eager to make a mark.
Midgets, Minisprints, Sidecars and Adult Ministocks complete the race programme which commences at 6:30pm. Admission prices are Adults $25 (16 years and over), $10 for children aged 8-15, and $60 for a family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. 7 and under are FREE.
