Super Night This Saturday

It’s going to be a SUPER night on Saturday 29th November at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway when the coveted Total Sheetmetals Manawatu Superstock Champion and the Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Champion are both crowned. A staple of speedway in Palmerston North, there is no doubt that both titles are hugely respected and sought after amongst the drivers - it’s anyone’s guess who will stand on top of the podium in either class! Add in Minisprints for the first round of the Oval Superstars Series, Adult Ministocks and the future of speedway Youth Ministocks and its going to be an awesome night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway.

The premier class in speedway will decide the most coveted local title, the Total Sheetmetals Manawatu Superstock Championship. This event is rich in history, with notable names including Dave Evans, Gary Parkes, Scott Miers, Jordan Dare, Jack Miers and defending champion William Humphries all having etched their names on the silverware - the glory of winning is the ultimate! Robertson Prestige International Speedway has been home to many of the country’s fastest and most competitive Superstock drivers who are all in with a chance of winning.

The carnage of the metal-crunching Stockcars will battle it out to take the prestigious title honours of the Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Championship. Defending champion 172p Daniel Burmeister will be looking to continue his impressive start to the season, which includes currently leading the Travel Managers Seasons Points Chase. The podium placegetters from the recent Motor Machinists Robin Pratt Stockcar Memorial will also be drivers to watch in this championship! The Manawatu Stockcar Championship has a rich history of past champions which makes this a title that is always hotly contested.

Also racing is the first round of the Oval Superstars Minisprint Tour for this season, with a quality field of drivers in the class the racing will be spectacular. Local hometown heroes may have the home track advantage and are likely podium contenders, with drivers including Nathan Jefferies, Daniel Nickel, Glen McCutcheon, and Jayden Williams are all in serious contention of having a great start to the tour. 

Classes in action are Superstocks, Stockcars, Minisprints, Adult Ministocks & Youth Ministocks - PN Registered cars only.

Admission prices are $30 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $70 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.

Tickets are available to pre-purchase online from www.eventfinda.co.nz, (tickets purchased incur an additional service fee) or on race day from Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 5:30pm. Racing starts at 6:30pm.
