Triple Title Treat This Saturday

One Grand Prix and two Manawatu titles will be decided this Saturday night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway when the Minisprints contest the sought-after New Zealand Grand Prix title, the Manawatu Saloon Championship is decided plus the Manawatu Adult Ministock Championship. Add in crowd favourite metal-crunching Stockcars and spectacular Super Saloons racing wheel-to-wheel at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway and what a Saturday night you have!

Minisprints racing wheel-to-wheel are no stranger to the Robertson Prestige International Speedway, with their side-by-side racing this championship is set to be hotly contested by local heroes and visiting drivers, it's anyone’s guess who will win the championship. Recently crowned 2nzp Elliot Herson and 3nzp Nathan Jefferies lead the local charge against a strong contingent of Stratford competitors including 1nzs Duane Hickman and defending Grand Prix winner 82s Cameron Hurley. Add in Wanganui's former national champion 53v Dylan Smith and other local hard chargers like 18p Daniel Nickel, 36p Glen McCutcheon, 54p Jayden Williams and 77p Matt Podjursky and picking a winner in this national title is anyone's guess.

A quality field of drivers is expected for the sought-after Manawatu Saloon Championship adding to a packed show at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway in the form of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs racing wheel-to-wheel. The wide tyres and fragile fibreglass bodies add another style of speedway racing which is proving popular not only with drivers but the spectators alike.

The Manawatu Adult Ministock Champs will be hotly contested with local drivers 7p Charlie O'Hara, 8p Caleb Keane, 14p Quin Clark and 148p Hamish Eagle all in with a chance of being on the podium after having a successful season racing, but with expected visiting drivers from Stratford the title is likely to go down to the wire.

Adding to the massive night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway metal crunching Stockcars will be battling it out for the chequered flag. Side-by-side and bumper-to-bumper, the drivers are always willing to put on a show for the fans! These metal crunching, fearless drivers have had a few weeks off the dirt, so expect them to make their impact felt at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway.

The Super Saloons will also hit the track, with their wide tyres, V8 engines and distinctive low sportscar bodies, these drivers are impressive racing wheel-to-wheel every lap! The racing is exhilarating from these drivers, with local Super Saloon drivers including 58p Peter Bengston, 27p Joe Ingram, 79p Richard Dreaver likely to make up the field.

Classes racing are: Minisprints, Saloons, Super Saloons, Superstocks, Stockcars, Adult Ministocks.

Rainout tickets issued on Saturday 4th November are valid for this event, or any other event this 2023/24 season only.

Tickets are available to purchase through Ticketek www.ticketek.co.nz to save standing in a queue (tickets purchased incur an additional small service fee), or on race day from Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 5pm.

Admission prices are $25 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $60 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.

Public gates open from 5pm - Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street). Racing starts at 6pm.
