With the final night deciding the Lucas Oil Superstock Shootout Series, Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Champs and Brownell Earthmoving King of the Arena Sidecar Best Pairs!
The familiar sound of Superstocks hitting the dirt is an institution in Palmerston North, and a quality field of these fearless drivers are ready to battle it out for the Lucas Oil Superstock Shootout Series after two rounds earlier in the season at Palmerston North and Hawkes Bay. The fast and spectacular racing of Superstocks is certainly the high-octane thrill that you can’t get enough of! The carnage of the metal-crunching Stockcars will battle it out to take the prestigious title of the Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Championship. Defending champion 172p Daniel Burmeister will be looking to hold on to the accolade and complete back-to-back championship wins, but previous winners 35p Matt Phippen, 82p Roydon Winstanley and 278p Kyle Taylor will give him a run for his money. Other locals right in contention for this title include brothers 772p Kyle and 992p Taylor Lampp, 43p Quentin Hammond and 79p Kyle Rowe. The Manawatu Stockcar Championship title has a rich history of past champions which makes this a title that is always hotly contested.
Adding to the exciting programme is the Brownell Earthmoving King of the Arena Sidecar Best Pairs, which will see some of the country’s best Sidecar combinations team up and battle it out. With 20 combinations confirmed including the new 1nz of Dylan Moohan & Shaun Mason, current Manawatu & Ray Tarrant Memorial Champion 97p Mike Zachan & Ben Franklin along with crowd favourites 5p Wingnut & Sam Carter, 17p Tony Hislop & Aidan Foothead, 96p Mark Whye & Jacob Cooper all included in the sensational field. The Robertson Prestige International Speedway has seen some spectacular Sidecar racing this season and this best pairs championship is set to deliver this high caliber of entertainment for the fans once again!
Minisprints also hit the track to round out what has been a sensational season of racing, with the pinnacle New Zealand Minisprint Championship held back in February, where locals Elliot Heron & Daniel Nickel both secured the top podium spots. The racing from the Minisprints has been close all season with a quality field of drivers from local heroes to drivers from Wanganui and Stratford this last night of racing for the season is set to be a night to remember.
The future of speedway Youth Ministocks will have the last dash chance to score points for the annual Travel Managers Season Points Chase with clear leader 22p Riki-Lee Kauri who is 14 points ahead of 41p Harrison Cheetham in the chase. With some drivers aging out this is their last chance to compete in the class, so the night's racing should be memorable.
To end the night Fireworks will light up the sky in a fond farewell to another awesome season of speedway racing at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway.

Admission prices are $25 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $60 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
Competitor Pit Gate - Gate 3 Cuba Street will open at 1:30pm.
Tickets can be purchased from our ticket booths on race days at Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 4pm- gate sales only. Racing starts at the earlier time of 5pm.
