Holiday Speedway Action

Monday night racing saw the return of the Saloons in the Saloon Speed Week series. After suffering damage and limping home in the first heat it was 1NZ Thomas Korff who showed his class with his round the outside passing to take the overall win. Also competing were 2NZ Scott Lansdowne and 3NZ Tom Roberts. It was 2NZ Scott Lansdowne who grabbed second overall, with 21a Steve Williams in third.

1NZ, 2NZ, 3NZ were also represented in the Manawatu Minisprint Champs with the consistent 2NZ Bayley Betts from Stratford taking the title. A run-off was required between current 1NZ Shane Dewar and Donald Kuriger for the other podium places but a tie was declared after the pair made contact heading to the start line and Dewar suffered a puncture.

In the Stockcars it was 15p Luke Miers who reigned supreme to win the Brent Lowe Memorial trophy after two rounds of qualifying and a one-race final for the 51 competitors that entered. The biggest hit of the night was in the opening race when Wanganui competitor 5v Jack Purcell took his clubmate 26v Kaelin Mooney into turn 1 hard and nearly rolled him.

Superstocks had their final hit out before the NZ Champs with 9p Brent Hyslop securing a win.

Auckland combination Jamie Moohan and Patrick Larsen won the opening Sidecar race. Other wins went to the Rob Miller-James Gerrard, Glen Murray-Emma Murray and Tony Hislop-Aidan Foothead combinations. The Adult Ministock races went to Will Hart and Steven Sowry.

666 Aaron Blackley won the ramp derby race and got a great ovation from the crowd.
