A Third Rees Wins Robin Pratt

The sun was out once again for the fourth meeting of 2025/26, the Robin Pratt Stockcar Memorial, and it was looking like being a great meeting. It has sadly been 25 years since Robin Pratt, a 45-year-old Foxton driver, suffered a medical event while racing at Palmerston North. His family donated the trophy to be contested each year in his honour. It is the most prestigious local Stockcar title on offer, with a rich history of past legends names appearing on the trophy including two times winner William Humphries and six times winner Peter Rees.

Fantastic Night Of Fireworks

The third meeting of 2025/26 at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway was the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular. There was a huge crowd in attendance, and it was lovely to see so many families. When the lights went out, the Fireworks were definitely spectacular which was shown with appreciation from the crowd with lots of oohs, ahs and gasps. Truly a fabulous fireworks display from the Kairanga Lions.

Burmeister Cashes In

The weather gods certainly played nice for the second meeting at Robertson Prestige International Speedway Palmerston North. There was sunshine all day with a light breeze, making a great setting for the Stockcar Dash for Cash. The anticipation and excitement around the Central Energy Trust Arena was obvious, even Stu Russell wanted to start the first race with a chequered flag. The meeting started bang on 6:30pm, with a promising 22 races to get through.

Grand Opening Kicks Off 2025/26

After a horrendous week of bad weather, I'm sure everyone's fingers and toes were crossed for opening night at Robertson Prestige International Speedway, Palmerston North. The weather gods played nice, and it was fantastic to see the pits were full of cars from all around the country.

Burmeister & King Prevail

172p Daniel Burmeister took his second Manawatu Stockcar Championship last weekend at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway after beating 76p Cameron Renwick in a run-off for the title. 24p Ashleigh King was crowned Saloon King of the Arena after prevailing in the 15-lap final race.
